Burglary Warning to all Suria Kinrara Residents

If you have already moved in and stayed at the Komplek, please ensure that you have collected all the keys from the Management office.

The Management office kept the third set of keys to your unit for defect rectification. Some of the keys have been passed to the sub-contractor, Contramec Sdn. Bhd.
On top of this, Contramec has the master key to all the grille lock.

One unit of the apartments was burgled yesterday (2 March 2011) and there wasn’t any sign of break in. The resident also padlocked the grille but the lock was picked.

An Indonesian worker from Contramec Sdn. Bhd. was arrested and now in the police lock-up. Pending further investigation, the resident who suffered losses should claim from Contramec Sdn. Bhd.

The worker with the third set of keys, probably picked the padlock, gained access to the apartment without any sign of break in.  Perhaps, it was a cheap China-made padlock that can be picked easily.

Calling all residents to secure your premises properly.

1)      Get a high quality hardened steel padlock such as  SOLEX, YALES  or VIRO.
2)      Ensure that you have collected all the keys from the Management office.
3)      Do not keep valuable in the apartment.
4)      Do not pass your keys to third parties,  without your supervision
5)      Do not tell anybody about your routines.
6)      If you can afford it, install CCTV with miniature camera in your apartment. They are quite cheap now.

Crimes are too high in Kuala Lumpur and the whole of Klang Valley. You cannot depend on private security guards or the police to protect you. You have to protect yourselves.

I heard of burglaries everyday in flats, apartments, high-class condominiums and even high class gated bungalows with regular patrolling and CCTVs.

Many of these burglaries are committed by peoples connected with the service providers, such as the contractors’ workers, the maids’ accomplices, cleaners, gardeners and sometimes even the guards engaged on the jobs to provide security.
